Its been another good week for the team at Barbury Castle, with two winners over the weekend, Presenting Lisa winning on her seasonal reappearance at Market Rasen, and Oceane winning yet again over hurdles at Kempton on Sunday, Midnight Cataria put up a solid performance finishing second beaten only one and a quarter lengths, a big solid mare, she should certainly improve for the run and get herself in the winners enclosure before long.

Monday proved to be another fruitful day with Wishing And Hoping scoring on his hurdles debut at Plumpton, a messy race, with fallers and horses running out the horse showed a brilliant constitution to get his head down and eventually win by one length, a stronger gallop, and in time, longer trip will certainly enable him to show his true potential. On the same day Primitivo managed to get his head in front at Windsor, providing the boss with another two year old winner.

Although we ran three lovely and very short prices horses yesterday at Worcester and Fontwell we were unable to bring home a winner. Board Of Trade made his hurdles debut after winning his two bumper runs last season , finishing second bumping into a nice prospect, he again, will benefit from a more galloping track and a stronger test of stamina, however it was a solid introduction. Miss Crick ran below par in the bumper, finishing forty lengths behind, dropping away tamely, this is certainly a run we can draw a line through, and she is still a nice prospect to go novice hurdling with.

Avispa again proved to be frustrating at Worcester for her first start of the season. We had felt she had strengthened well over the summer and although she put together some good runs last season, we did feel there was still more to come from her. She seemed to be fairly beaten by what looks a lovely horse yesterday, she still hasn’t converted her pleasing homework to the racecourse, she does show plenty of speed in her homework and the boss will now look to run her on the flat.
