Galloping tracks with a long straight seem suit Cosmeapolitan, who returns to Haydock tomorrow for the £100,000 Old Newton Cup.

Alan said:”Cosmeapolitan ran well there in September, finishing second in another competitive handicap, and Dougie Costello, who got a good tune out of him that day, is back on board.

“The horse ran well on his seasonal reappearance at Newmarket and maybe the extended 10 furlongs was on the sharp side when he disappointed at York in May, but he’s enjoyed a little break and, though it looks tough and we are drawn wide, hopefully he’ll run another solid race.”

We also have Amadeus Rox going to Leicester for the mile and a half handicap there, and Alan added:”He has been placed in all his three races this season but ran in snatches at Nottingham last time, so we are trying him in first time cheekpieces to get him to focus more.”
