With the Paddy Power meeting looming it was business as usual for the horses and staff, 24 horses were schooled this morning some of those having their final jump before they head to races. Work mornings are busy as usual but extremely exciting especially now the horses are exercising on one of our many grass gallops. We’ve had a few runners already this week, sadly failing to pick up the winners prize but the horses are certainly not disgracing themselves.

Raya Hope, a Milan half sister the talented but ill-fated Raya Star made her seasonal reappearance, only her second start, in an All-Weather bumper at Lingfield on Tuesday, despite Tom Bellamy’s best efforts she pulled extremley hard and scuppered any chance of giving a true account of herself. She seems none the worse for this experience and in time when she has more races under her belt she will learn to settle and race properly, this forward going mentality was a trait her half brother Raya Star possessed in his early years, and in time she will learn her job just as he did.

Araldur got his season underway at Bangor over fences, jumping well thorughout and eventually finishing 5th. A previous Grade 2 winner over fences, he had spent some time hurdling and it was great to see him take to the fences once again. A big strong horse, he had a good blow after this run and he should certainly improve for this outing.
