The stayers did us proud in Tuesday’s Ascot Stakes, and now we look to Top Tug to deliver the goods in Friday’s finale, the Duke of Edinburgh Handicap.

Alan said:”Fingers crossed the rain stays away as Top Tug is in his element on fast ground. He has been a star for us and he beat all except subsequent Coronation Cup runner-up Frontiersman at Newmarket, with that form getting another boost when fourth-placed Big Country won at York last week.

“Top Tug has since gone one better at Goodwood, but as a result he is now up to a mark of 105 so will need a career-best performance. We’ve booked Pat Smullen and we’ll need luck in running from a wide draw in such a big field, but he goes there in great form.”
