The perfect way to end 2016 is how Alan summed up Messire des Obeaux‘s victory in the Challow Hurdle at Newbury last week-end, and now it’s a case of onwards and upwards as we look ahead with optimism to 2017.

Messire des Obeaux beat a high-quality field with some authority at Newbury, and Alan said:”He was terrific and the Neptune looks his target at the Cheltenham Festival in March, with the race on trials day there at the end of the month the obvious stepping-stone.”

“The Challow had not been one of my luckier races – Manyriverstocross, Junior and Label des Obeaux were all beaten after winning the same race at Sandown that ‘Messire’ captured en route, but he looks very exciting. We’ve had a good run since Boxing Day and I almost didn’t want 2016 to end.”
