Tuesday January 19

We are off to our local track, Newbury, tomorrow, where we look to have a couple of decent chances with Willoughby Hedge in the handicap chase and Mia’s Storm in the mares novice hurdle.

Alan said:”It will be good to finally get Mia’s Storm rolling over jumps as she was a smart bumper mare who finished second in Listed grade. We were going to get her started at Huntingdon a few weeks ago but she pulled a muscle the day before, and then when I entered her for the meeting at that track last week I decided that waiting a bit longer would do her good.

“Willoughby Hedge is a fine, big, scopey horse and looks every inch a chaser. He was travelling extremely well when he got in too tight at the cross fence here last month and paid the penalty, but he has schooled well since and we are looking forward to him, too.”
