Monday March 14

There is more pressure at Cheltenham than any of the other four Festivals, and any trainer bar Willie Mullins would be content with just one winner this week, so, hopefully, Alan will be find his way into the winner’s enclosure at least once after the 28 races over the next four days, though Tuesday will be our quietest day with just the single runner, William H Bonney in the opening Supreme Novices’ Hurdle.

Alan said:”He is a progressive young horse who has won twice this season and with a rating of 136 he deserves to take his chance. This is obviously a big step up in class, but I have always maintained that he would improve again on better ground, so the more it dries out the happier we’ll be.”
