Wednesday August 31

Having conquered Sedgefield with his first ever raid on the Durham course, courtesy of Magic Music Man last week, Alan hopes to end what has been a hugely successful August on a high, with the versatile The Tourard Man, winner of a novice chase at Stratford last time, attempting to repeat the dose at Southwell today.

Reflecting on “a great month”, Alan said:”Five winners in the last fortnight with 10 others finishing in the frame illustrates how well the team have been performing, and, hopefully, we can carry on the good work into September, when our first runner will be William Hunter in the mile and a half handicap at Ascot on Friday.

“William Hunter has done nothing but improve through the summer and produced his best yet when winning the competitive Brighton Challenge Cup. He enjoys this fast ground, and, despite going up another 5lb to a mark of 82, he would have a solid chance in a race which though having cut up from 16 to just eight runners, still looks wide open.”
