Grumeti missed his engagement in the Queen Alexandra Stakes at Royal Ascot because of the lightning fast ground. but our versatile old favourite is back in action at Kempton tomorrow in the £12,000 two-mile handicap.

Alan said:”It will only be Grumeti’s third run on the all-weather and his first on the polytrack. He did win well on the tapeta surface at Wolverhampton in March, a victory which gave everybody in the yard a great thrill.

“I was pleased how well Grumeti ran at York last time, and he is only 2lb higher than at Wolverhampton, so with the change in surface not likely to present any problems we are hoping for a bold run. He beat Dodging Bullets in a Grade 2 novice hurdle there a few years ago.”
