The passing of Cheltenham leaves all racing yards with a feeling of anti-climax, but life rolls on and Alan has two runners at Ludlow tomorrow, Clondaw Fonz in the opening maiden hurdle and newcomer Bastien in the bumper.

Alan said:”I was very encouraged by Clondaw Fonz’s first run at Huntingdon, where he was staying on well in third, but my worry here is that the two miles and five furlongs might be on the sharp side. I wanted to run him back at Huntingdon over three (miles) as we feel the trip would suit him, but their meeting was washed out last week.

“Bastien has shown a little at home and needs a run so as we can see where we are with him.”
