Alan, who will have no complaints about recent York winner Oceane being raised 5lb by the official handicapper, make a rare raid to Sedgefield tomorrow, where we have three runners.

The boss does not have too many summer jumpers, but those that are running are doing well and the latest celebration came via the versatile Precision Five at Southwell yesterday.

Casting his eyes over the trio heading off to Co Durham, Alan said:”Magic Music Man tries for that elusive maiden hurdle victory. He can boast two seconds, two thirds and two fourths in his last six attempts over timber, but we are putting a visor on instead of the cheekpieces and, hopefully, that might work the oracle. He certainly deserves to win one.

“There is also headgear for Royal Plaza in the handicap hurdle. He was a bit keen when third at Worcester last time so we are trying him in a hood which might help him switch off better early on.

“Sandwiched between those we have Mille Nautique in the handicap chase. He ran really well to finish second at Stratford last time and if he can reproduce that effort he ought to be bang there.”
