Losing a horse of the calibre of Primitivo to Hong Kong left a big void in our small Flat string, but it looks as if Alan has found an able substitute in William Hunter, who bolted up in the prestigious Brighton Challenge Cup on the Sussex Downs yesterday.

Alan said:”That is two wins and two places from four runs since William Hunter went handicapping. He just seems to be getting better and better, and he appreciated dropping back in trip as he did not stay the mile and six at Sandown previously.”

We have one runner on Sunday, Hardington in the 10-furlong handicap on the polytrack at Chelmsford. He has been in the frame in all his three races this year, has run well on the surface before and with this race having cut up we are hopeful he will be in the shake-up again.
